What is Intellective Art?

I founded Intellective Art LLC to combine my artistic ability, scientific expertise, and love of nature into one business. I aim to improve the accessibility of science for broader audiences through easily disseminated visuals that are both scientifically accurate and visually appealing.

I am currently a Scientific Illustration Fellow at Insight Illustrations LLC while pursuing a PhD dual majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Molecular Plant Science at Michigan State University.

I've always been fascinated by living things: observing the interactions between organisms with each other and their environment, caring for my pets and plants and watching them thrive, and capturing the beauty of plants and animals through pictures and paintings. I developed a particular interest in the molecular level; how the compositions, shapes, and interactions between molecules lead to life.

Aiming for a career in science while pursuing art on the side, I received my BS in Horticulture while continuing to create and sell drawings and paintings. During my MS in Cell and Molecular Biology, and my current PhD dual majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Molecular Plant Sciences, my artistic pursuits transitioned to activities related to my graduate studies.
